Open since 1975. 9272 Glover Road The Bedford House Restaurant and Lounge in Fort Langley BC The Haldi House remained a private residence until 1975 when it was refurbished as the Bedford House Restaurant. To this day, some say that the haldi's still wander through their home, keeping an eye on their holdings. The Haldi's were a civic minded family who helped to assist in the beginning of the Albion Ferry service to Maple Ridge. The grand character of the hose and it's stately grounds, along with the view of the Fraser River allowed Jacob to raise his own livestock on the island seen across the Bedford Channel. The 10, 000 dollar construction cost was paid through a large inheritance after Jessie's father passed away. The home was an impressive structure in the early nineteenth century. Welcome to Fort Langley The Original Birthplace of British Columbia Originally known as the Haldi House, this heritage manor was built in 1904 by Jacob Haldi and his wife Jessie, Jacob had emigrated from Switzerland, and took up residence as the town butcher. The Bedford Houses is still operated by Herb and Lorraine Fsisghl.
